Java Technologies on SCO Systems

Java^TM 2 Runtime Environment v. 1.2.2-001

The Java^TM 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE) is a powerful runtime environment that is portable, object-oriented, platform independent, and especially well suited for executing Internet-enabled applications. The J2RE includes only the Java interpreter, classes, just-in-time compiler, and related runtime components, and is licensed to all UnixWare 7 and SCO OpenServer Release 5 licensees. It does not include development components or documentation.

It is a full implementation of the Sun Microsystems^TM Java 2 Platform - the technology and environment described in the Sun^TM specifications of the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition, v. 1.2.2-001.

J2RE 1.2.2-001 will run on the following versions of SCO operating systems:

• UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.1 (with one ptf)
• UnixWare 7 Release 7.1 (with three ptfs)
• SCO OpenServer Release 5.0.2, 5.0.4, and 5.0.5 (with the 7.1.1 OSRcompat package)

At this time, J2RE 1.2.2-001 is not available for the SCO UnixWare^® 2.1.3 operating system.
